SHHH… SURPRISE


The room was dark
…the stars bright
…the moon crescent-like
On that scary night

Noises were playing
…in the lonely house
Form trumpets to saxophones…
Yells to whispers…
Every kind of sound
…had just managed to
Kiss my anxious ears

Light eluded my patient sight
…before I saw something bright
…just to be scared at the ghastly site…
A skeleton floating adrift in mid-air

I ran in the hall
Panting & gasping for breath
…in the pursuit of relief
Just to be left aghast
…by the floating cloaks
Making my eyes pop out of the holes…

Demure & deprived of peace
I ran in the greens…
In the beautiful lawn
Under the sky
I lay on the ground…
Finding solace in the homely land

Wet I was when my eyes opened
Soaked in the watery emotions of yesterday…
Shining in the notorious eyes of my friends,
…who whined ,”It was just a PRANK!!!! ”
