DYING IN PEACE
Looking in your eyes
& partying all night…
Love blossomed in the dark…
& my heart started to beat fast…
Happiness had crowded all around
Dancing with you on the floor
When I heard a crackling sound
Thrashing the glass panes
Penetrating through the doors
Acidified iron had arrived
Piercing through the flesh
Gory became the scene
With fountains of blood all around
We ran for our lives…
Vandalizing every bit of time…
Living in the threat of death…
Holding each others hands
We reached the corridor
Nearing the vacant exit door…
To be halted in the way
By the hotel staff there
& looking in your eyes…
I sat unfazed, unafraid…
Little did I know
That life was shorter than
What I had believed…
Piercing through my torso
Embracing my tiny heart…
Splashing the red fluid of my life…
The bullet sent me in a trance
…sliding through the memoirs of the past
…crawling the time we had spent together
…glancing across the visages of dear-ones
& smiling at you…
In the trifle of pain
I continued to smile…
Asking you to be my valentine
I waited for your affirmation
…as I was closing on my death
Your eyes poured out
…with all the emotions
I had been eager to see
…the lifelong patient stand
Had now come to an end…
